Triennium 2026

Shape the future

Be part of the 2026 Triennium

Have you ever thought about taking on a new role, getting more involved, want to have your say in helping shape the future of our organisation? The Triennium is your chance to do just that. We’re looking for members to step forward as Trustees including an Honorary Treasurer and Committee members, and we’ll be here to support you every step of the way. Over the coming months there’ll be lots of ways to  get involved and find out more:

  • Nov 2025: We’ll be sharing information through meetings, newsletters, our new website, social media, and videos.
  • Nov 2025 – Jan 2026: Join one of our friendly online Q&A drop-in sessions to ask questions and hear from others.
  • Jan 2026: Look out for our “Why I am a Trustee” stories where current Trustees share their experiences.

Applications close on 27 February 2026, with interviews in March and new Trustees announced by 31 March.

New Trustees will be officially welcomed at the AGM on 16 May 2026.

Joining the Scottish Women’s Institutes Board of Trustees is not just an opportunity to lead,  it’s a chance to shape the future of a historic organisation rooted in community, creativity, and connection. As a trustee, you play a vital role in empowering women, preserving Scottish traditions, and ensuring the SWI continues to thrive for generations to come.

You’ll bring your skills and experience to the table, helping to guide strategic decisions, and advocate for the voices of women across Scotland. It’s a deeply rewarding way to give back, grow personally and professionally, and be part of a group that values education, friendship, and progress.

You don’t need to have all the answers or years of experience with the SWI, just an interest in helping shape the future and a willingness to give it a go. Come along, have a informal chat, and see where it might take you. You might be surprised at how much you have to offer!
