NEW Guidance Launched for Federations and Institutes: Preserving your Archives

“…it was said that the SWRI was the greatest social development in rural Scotland for 100 years." (Report, Central Council 1963-1966. Archive ref. SWI/1/1/1/1/9)

This small but mighty quote was recently discovered in old central council minutes. It underscores the importance of archiving artifacts at both regional and local levels. The Heritage Group is thrilled to launch a new guide for members on how to preserve archives effectively.

Archivist Rachael Muir has wrote this guide to ensure members fully understand the process and the steps to take next. We hope you enjoy beginning this process, and we encourage you to send us any photos of your archiving efforts.
