To complement all the national SWI events, workshops and classes on offer, each region in Scotland has its own local SWI organising team, known as a Federation, to look after the groups in its area. They offer women across the region opportunities to meet neighbouring members for day trips, outings and events, take part in regional shows, and enter fun competitions.
Orkney Federation has Institutes on Mainland, Burray, Shapinsay, South Ronaldsay, Stronsay and Rousay, providing a powerful opportunity for connection between rural communities through fun, friendship and lifelong learning. Members can enjoy taking part in the annual baking and craft shows, craft workshops, or just having a good natter at one of their lovely socials!
