SWI 2025 Study Tour: Dublin & Ireland's Hidden Heartlands | Operated by Dodds of Troon
Trip date: 13th–17th October 2025
Join us for a delightful 5-day tour exploring the tranquil beauty and rich heritage of Ireland’s hidden heartlands and the vibrant city of Dublin. National Competition | Deadline June 26th 2026 | Open for entries
The Vaughan Nash is a national handcraft competition. It celebrates creativity, skill, and presentation in both traditional and modern crafts. Each entry must include five handmade items, displayed together as one exhibit. The items should demonstrate a variety of craft techniques and be arranged to look good as one exhibit and be themed on 'Festivals'.

The Heritage group meet on a monthly basis to drive forward progress for the SWI Heritage project, with an objective on preparing a ready to go collection for the planned Visitor Learning Centre.
Any member is welcomed to join this group, whether you have a specific story to share or simply want to stay informed, to join us for an informal online evening session.

As part of the SWI’s Heritage Lottery Fund project, this session will introduce participants to best practices in record and processing oral histories. It is suitable both for those who have already been involved in the SWI’s oral history work, and for those without any prior experience. As well as the information provided, there will be opportunities for practical work both in recording and transcription.
