Glass engraving Workshop

“I recently ran a glass engraving and sea glass postcard workshop in the space and wanted to share some feedback.

Overall, the session went really well. Having power sockets readily available was essential for this type of workshop, and I was pleased to find them there. Access to a screen for the presentation was also really helpful”

Boutonnière Workshop

“I’ve been running workshops in halls and Institute meetings across Wigtownshire and beyond for years, so I’m used to working with whatever space is available. When I was asked to run the workshop at the SWI central office, I found it a very straightforward setup. As a retired teacher, I value a room that supports learning, and this one did. Parking was simple, the lift made getting materials upstairs easy, and the team were on hand to set up the room so it was ready to go.

It was also lovely meeting members from different parts of Scotland. I’d recommend the central office to anyone who wants to try running their workshop in a different setting. It’s accessible, well supported, and lets you focus on the teaching rather than the logistics”
