National Writing Competition 2026 - The Warnock Trophy

The SWI National Writing Competition invites members to showcase their creativity and writing talent. Each year, the Skills & Events Committee selects a new theme and format (e.g. poem, short story, letter). The overall winner receives the Warnock Trophy and Shopify voucher for the SWI Shop; additional SWI Shop vouchers be awarded for runners-up.

2026 theme

  • Theme: “All Things SWI”
    • Format: Newspaper article (250-300 words, incl. article headline)  
    • Prompt: Explore the memory, meaning, or magic behind anything SWI related.

Entry Rules

  • Open to all SWI members.
  • Entries must be original and unpublished.
  • Copyright law must be observed.
