New Event

Join author, adventurer, and mother Kate Barron, also known as Wilderness Mum, for an inspiring online talk about her extraordinary journey of adventure, resilience, and motherhood.

Kate left a conventional teaching career in London to follow her passion for the wild, travelling solo through jungles and remote landscapes before meeting Chris Lewis, a homeless ex-paratrooper walking the entire UK coastline for charity. Together, they walked thousands of miles, lived in a tent for years, and raised over £500,000 for SSAFA, all while embracing the challenges and joys of first-time parenthood in the outdoors.

In this talk, Kate shares:

  • Her journey from conventional life to outdoor adventurer.
  • How she navigated pregnancy, childbirth, and early motherhood while living entirely outdoors.
  • Lessons learned about resilience, self-trust, and raising a child immersed in nature.
  • The values of adventure, freedom, and living in alignment with your passions.

Drawing on her experiences and her new book Wilderness Mum, Kate’s story is honest, moving, and empowering. This talk is perfect for anyone curious about adventure, parenting, the outdoors, or simply seeking inspiration to live life on their own terms.
