A home for our heritage
Ambitious plans
Creating a permanent legacy

We are working to secure a home for our heritage, where our collections and digital archives can unite to celebrate Scotland’s women. While our plans depend on funding, we’re exploring opportunities across Scotland with our partners, funders, and members.
Our vision is a vibrant hub sharing memories and traditions through events, exhibitions, and workshops, supporting growth and sustainability.
By partnering with like-minded groups, we can create a heritage home celebrating Scotland’s women and empowering future generations.
Member voices

The SWI Heritage Project captures the often-unheard voices of rural Scottish women, making significant progress nationwide. Through interviews with SWI members and connected communities, the project documents their memories, traditions, and the profound impact the SWI has had on their lives. These stories are being carefully preserved to ensure the rich history and cultural heritage of rural Scottish women are remembered and celebrated for generations to come.
Training sessions across Scotland enabled women to record members locally, fostering community spirit and developing skills nationwide.
