What’s on offer

Vaughan Nash Exhibition

The Vaughan Nash is a national handcraft competition. It celebrates creativity, skill, and presentation in both traditional and modern crafts. Each entry must include five handmade items, displayed together as one exhibit. The items should demonstrate a variety of craft techniques and be arranged to look good as one exhibit and be themed on ‘Festivals’.

Evelyn Baxter Competition 2026

Take part in this year’s Evelyn Baxter Trophy competition and showcase your creativity through the art of macramé.

For 2026, participants are invited to create a Macramé Necklace, drawing on the techniques learned in the 2025 Beginners’ Macramé classes. Entries should broadly follow the provided pattern (see below) while allowing space for your own interpretation and personal style.

Dundee Cake Exhibition

The Anne Wallace Sugar Sifter Trophy is the SWI’s national baking competition celebrating Scotland’s rich culinary heritage and the skill of our home bakers. This year’s entry is a traditional Dundee cake, showcasing craftsmanship, flavour, and attention to detail.

Marmalade Exhibition

The Mary Aitken Trophy is a national preserves competition celebrating the time-honoured skills of crafting homemade jams and preserves. This year’s entry is a jar of marmalade, showcasing clarity, colour, and depth of flavour.

SWI’s Got Talent Entertainment

SWI’s Got Talent is a fun, feel-good variety showcase celebrating the amazing hidden talents of our members. It’s not a competition – just a chance to take the spotlight and share what you love, whether that’s singing, acting, magic, comedy, or something completely unexpected!
