An update on safeguarding

A new safeguarding initiative is being rolled out across the membership in Scotland to support the safe and welcoming spaces you help create. As part of your membership support, we’re pleased to share a new, easy-to-use policy template that individual Institutes and Federations can download from the new website.

To help members feel confident using the guidance, we’ll also be holding a short online briefing session, which we plan to deliver at the beginning of April 2026. The session will be recorded so anyone who can’t attend can watch it afterwards.

For most members, this won’t feel new, it simply puts into writing the steps you already take when looking out for each other and helps us meet our responsibilities consistently.
