Volunteering with Scottish Women’s Institutes offers meaningful opportunities to support communities and women’s empowerment across Scotland. Volunteers can contribute through various roles including event organisation, educational workshops, fundraising activities, and administrative support. The SWI particularly values skills in areas such as crafts, cooking, public speaking, digital literacy, and advocacy work.

Being a volunteer provides personal development through leadership training, networking with like-minded women, and learning traditional skills alongside developing contemporary ones. Whether helping with local activities, supporting national campaigns, or mentoring new members, volunteers gain satisfaction from preserving Scottish heritage, promoting women’s voices, and strengthening community bonds while contributing to causes that matter to rural and urban women alike.
