Partnerships

Collaborative projects

When partners join forces with SWI, they gain a strong platform to connect with a vibrant community of women across Scotland, unlocking opportunities for outreach, education, and meaningful collaboration.

Together, these initiatives show the real power of partnership, creating opportunities, strengthening communities, and amplifying SWI’s impact across Scotland.

Our latest partnership: Home-Start

We’re thrilled to announce a brand-new partnership with Home-Start UK! We’re inviting members to knit or crochet hats in baby/toddler, child and adult sizes which will be gifted to families right in your own communities who may struggle to stay warm this winter.

Why Home-Start?
Home-Start is an amazing charity powered by volunteers who help young families through adverse circumstances and life-changing events. We’re so proud to partner with them and bring some of that homemade love to struggling families this winter.

How it works
Louise Pritchard from Bow Fiddle Yarns has created exclusive patterns just for SWI members, so you can get creating children’s hats.

The hats will be for a family in your local area, so when your hats are ready, deliver them to your local Home-Start office (by post, or drop them off in person, by prior arrangement) – details below.

Email membership@theswi.org.uk to let us know when you’ve dropped off your hats, and we’ll add it to our national tally. Take photos and share your beautiful hats online on your SWI Facebook page, and help us get the word out there. Use #StitchedbySWI or tag us using @ScottishWomensInstitutes so we can see all your hard work!
