The Photography Competition celebrates members’ creativity and unique perspectives. Each year, the Skills & Events Committee selects a new theme, encouraging members to capture the world around them. A selection of winning photographs will feature in the SWI Annual Calendar.

2026 theme

  • Theme: “Hands at Work”
    • Focus: Capture people’s hands doing something — crafting, gardening, cooking, knitting.
    • Why it works: Ties photography to SWI activities and human interest; easy for storytelling.

Entry Rules

  • Open to all SWI members.
  • Members may submit up to 3 photos for the entry fee.
  • Images must be original and the entrant’s own work.
  • Submissions must be digital and of sufficient resolution for print.
  • Copyright law must be observed.
  • Portrait & landscape images are accepted, but landscape entries are preferred for the selection of the SWI Annual Calendar.
