Crochet for Beginners
Ready to pick up a crochet hook and learn something new?
Our 12-week Crochet for Beginners course gives you plenty of time, support and encouragement to learn at your own pace and build your confidence along the way.
For just £95, your course fee covers everything needed to provide a high-quality learning experience, including:
- 12 weeks of structured learning
- Three in-person workshops with an experienced tutor
- Personalised tuition and guidance
- Ongoing online tutor support between workshops
- Workshop venue costs
- Assessment and feedback on your progress
- A certificate of completion
Who is Beginner Level for?
- Perfect if you’re completely new to the craft or simply want to give it a go.
- No previous experience is needed – you’ll learn at your own pace in a friendly and supportive environment.
- Once you’ve completed Beginner Level, you can choose to continue your SWIFTS journey and progress to Intermediate and Advanced levels.

| Tuesday 13th October | 6pm–7pm | Meet Your Tutor Fiona Meade: An Online Introduction Before the course begins, join us on Zoom for a friendly welcome session. You’ll meet your tutor, find out what to expect from the course and have the chance to ask any questions before you get started. | Week 0 |
| Sunday 25th October | 1pm-4pm | Workshop: In-person Join your tutor and fellow students in person for the first of your hands-on workshops, getting stuck into the skills and techniques you’ll build on throughout the course. | Week 1 |
| Sunday 8th November | 1pm-4pm | Workshop: In-person Continue your journey with a second in-person workshop, developing your skills further alongside your tutor and the rest of the group. | Week 3 |
| Sunday 22nd November | 1pm-4pm | Workshop: In-person Bring it all together in your third and final in-person workshop, putting the finishing touches to your skills ahead of assessment. | Week 5 |
| Sunday 13th December | Assessment Submission Submit your assessment piece, showcasing the skills and techniques you’ve developed throughout the course. | Week 8–10 |
| Sunday 27th December | Feedback & Results Session An opportunity to receive personalised feedback on your work and your certificate of achievement. | Week 9–12 (1–2 weeks post-assessment) |

A limited number of assessment-only spaces will be available for members only. This is for experienced crafters who already have the necessary skills and would like to gain an SWI certificate without completing the full course. To register your interest, please email hello@theswi.org.uk
